Rosewood coast or vanilla coast? Sainte Marie, real sanctuary of nature with its primitive forests, its flower species, cascades and sea beds, humpback whales from June to September. Ambodifotatra, the main town, "street-village" with its historical monuments among which the citadel of the compagnie des Indes and the oldest church in Madagascar (1859). To the north, the Pointe des cocotiers, Ambodiatafana and its succession of natural swimming-pools, the sacred site of Pointe Albrand. To the west, Lounkintsy, the largest bay of Sainte Marie with its rock barrier. To the east, a barrier of coral reefs from a natural aquarium. To the south, the Ilots aux sables, a set of 3 coral islets, and l'Iles aux Nattes, Sainte Marie's jewel with its tips, bays and emerald lagoon.
Drive eastward to Andasibe through the typical landscape of the highland and the eastern rainforest. Stop on the way to visit the Pereyras reserve where you can discover the frogs, reptiles, crocodiles. Arrival to Andasibe. Installation at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit of the vakona private reserve including its small island for lemurs followed by an evening walk at the mitsinjo forest for spotting different nocturnal species as the mouse lemur, the greater dwarf lemur , the hairy eared dwarf lemur, the eastern woolly lemur, as well as endemic species of reptiles and batrachians. In the morning walk within the Analamazaotra reserve for spotting the Indri Indri, which the largest living lemur. Back to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, walk through the primary forest of the Mantadia National Park. 06 different species of diurnal lemur species are found in this park including the Indri Indri, the black and white ruffer lemur, the diademed sifaka lemur, the common brown lemur, the grey bamboo lemur and the bellied lemur. This park as well is among the best site for spotting where endemic birds can be found including the blue coua, red breasted coua, pitta like ground roller, scaly ground roller, short legged ground roller, velvet asity, crossley's babbler, nuthatch vanga, red tailed vanga, cuckoo hawk, Madagascar buzzard, blue vanga, ..... back to the hotel after the visit
Leaving early the hotel drive through the beautiful green landscape of the east and straight to the Pangalanes channel. Trip by the boat and exploring the nest of dream or in malagasy language "Ankanin'ny nofy", possibility to have a meeting with the fishermen and their villages. Overnight at the hotel.
